Mr. Clarence Edward Blackwell, Sr., age 90, departed his earthly life and entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2024 in Durham, North Carolina.
Mr. Blackwell was a native of Person County, North Carolina, born to the union of the late Rufus Clay Blackwell, Sr. and the late Inez Brooks Blackwell. He was a Deacon Emeritus at Shady Hill Baptist Church in Roxboro, North Carolina and a Veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his wife Hallie Williams Blackwell; sisters: Caroline B. Liles and Magnolia B. Clayton; and Brothers: Zeb V. Blackwell, Samuel Blackwell, Sr., William Blackwell and Rufus Blackwell, Jr.
Mr. Clarence Edward Blackwell, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory his son Clarence E. Blackwell, Jr. of Kannapolis, North Carolina; daughters: Debora Blackwell of Henderson, North Carolina; Valerie Blackwell Parker (husband Theodore) of Roxboro, North Carolina; Laverne Blackwell Odum (husband Kenny) of Hertford, North Carolina; and Kimberly Blackwell Love (husband Reginald) of Roxboro, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous additional loving relatives and friends.
