Mr. Marvin W. Melrose, age 80, husband to the late Ann E. Melrose, of Whitakers, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 8 PM after a long illness and hospital stay.
Born on June 5, 1944 in Bakersfield, California. He was the son of the late Margaret E. Melrose and Elden D. Melrose, formerly of Enid, Oklahoma.
Mr. Melrose is a twenty year Retired United States Navy Serviceman. While in the Navy, he was an Aviation Technician and spent a large part of his Navy career onboard ships and overseas.
He is survived by his son Scott of Concord, North Carolina; daughter Karen of Roxboro, North Carolina; two grandsons: Matthew of Austin, Texas and Ryan of Roxboro; 1 granddaughter: Sarah of Roxboro; one brother Stan and one sister Nancy, both of Enid, Oklahoma; three nephews and one niece; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
He will be missed by family, friends and loved ones. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Duke Hospital in both Raleigh and Durham North Carolina for the compassionate care given during his stay.
A Memorial Service honoring
