Mrs. Joyce Ann McCain Thorpe, age 71, departed her Earthly life and entered eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 at Parkview Health and Rehabilation Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
She was a native of Person County, North Carolina, born to the union of the late Harvey McCain, Sr. and the late Birlee McCain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Wanda McCain, Jean McCain, Sandra McCain and Reverend Celestine Bradsher; and one brother Harvey McCain, Jr.
Mrs. Joyce Ann McCain Thorpe leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Pastor Tonia Cunningham (Deacon Anthony) Pastor of Life Outreach Worship Center in Roxboro, North Carolina; one son Mr. Shawn C. Thorpe, CEO, The Thorpe Enterprises LLC of Arlington, Virginia; two bonus sons: Reverend Vance Stewart of Durham, North Carolina and Sgt. First Class Rodney Blackwell of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; step-children: Monica Thorpe of Roxboro; Prophet Charles Cook, Jr. (Minister Kenya) of Durham; and Reverend Tereasa Spruell (Minister Tonie) of Butner, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Anthony Cunningham, Jr. (Jade) and Trinity Cunningham, both of Roxboro; and Nicholas Cunningham (Alexis) of Greensboro, North Carolina; four bonus grandchildren: Jarius and Jeremiah Cook of Durham, North Carolina; and David and Micheal Spruell of Butner; one bonus great grandchild Kylie Hawley of Roxboro; four sisters: Evelyn McCain, Elizabeth McCain, Co-Pastor Becky Poole (Pastor Ted), and Elder Jackie Hamlet (Bishop Daryl), all of Roxboro; one brother Sam McCain (Carrie) of Roxboro; one aunt Elder Ernestine Jay of Roxboro; special friends Lattimore and Maggie Thorpe and Stella Cook; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
